Installation Guide
This guide walks you through installing Minttu on your system. The process takes about 5 minutes and requires minimal configuration.
System Requirements
Before installing Minttu, ensure your system meets the following requirements:

Note: Minttu works with both desktop Excel and Excel for the web. However, some advanced features are only available in the desktop version.
Installation Steps
Step 1: Download Minttu
Visit the Minttu website and download the installer for your operating system.
Step 2: Run the Installer
Windows
- Locate the downloaded
MinttuSetup.exefile - Double-click to run the installer
- If prompted by User Account Control, click Yes
- Follow the on-screen instructions
- Click Install when ready
macOS
- Open the downloaded
Minttu.dmgfile - Drag the Minttu icon to your Applications folder
- Open Excel to complete the add-in registration
- If prompted about security, go to System Preferences → Security & Privacy and click Open Anyway
Step 3: Activate the Add-in
After installation, you need to activate Minttu within Excel:
- Open Microsoft Excel
- Navigate to Insert → Get Add-ins (or Insert → My Add-ins)
- Search for "Minttu" in the Office Add-ins store
- Click Add to enable the add-in
- The Minttu tab will appear in your Excel ribbon
Warning: If you don't see Minttu in the Add-ins list, try restarting Excel. Some installations require a restart to complete registration.
Step 4: Sign In
- Click on the Minttu tab in the Excel ribbon
- Click Sign In in the Minttu panel
- Enter your Minttu account credentials
- Authorize the add-in to access your account
Configuration
After installation, you can customize Minttu's behavior through the settings panel.
Accessing Settings
- Click the Minttu tab
- Click the Settings gear icon
- Configure your preferences

Verifying Installation
To confirm Minttu is working correctly:
- Open a new Excel workbook
- Click the Minttu tab
- You should see the Minttu sidebar panel
- Type a question in the chat input, such as "What can you help me with?"
- Minttu should respond with helpful information
Success: If you see a response, congratulations! Minttu is installed and ready to use.
Troubleshooting
Common Issues
Minttu tab doesn't appear
- Restart Excel completely
- Check that the add-in is enabled in File → Options → Add-ins
- Reinstall the add-in if necessary
Sign-in fails
- Verify your internet connection
- Check that your credentials are correct
- Try signing in through a web browser first
Add-in loads slowly
- Ensure your system meets the minimum requirements
- Close unnecessary Excel workbooks
- Check your internet connection speed
